To provide adequate time for developing numeracy skills each class teacher will provide a daily maths lesson. This may vary in length but will usually last up to an hour in Key Stage 1 and 50 to 60 minutes in Key Stage 2. Maths is taught formally and informally everyday throughout Foundation Stage, this may be whole class, 1:1 or as a small group focus activity.

Cross curricula links will be made to maths throughout the curriculum so pupils can develop and apply their mathematical skills.

Regular practice of times tables is encouraged, as they will need them in many aspects of real life as well as in their maths lesson. By the end of Y4 they should know all their times tables up to 12X12.
